SalaryMap USA

About SalaryMap USA

Most salary sites blend self-reported numbers, estimates, and guesswork — and it shows. SalaryMap USA takes the opposite approach: every statistic on this site comes from an official U.S. government dataset or a documented calculation applied to one, with the source, data period, and retrieval date shown on every page.

Where the data comes from

Wages and employment come from the Bureau of Labor Statistics Occupational Employment and Wage Statistics program. Household income, rent, home values, and population come from the Census Bureau American Community Survey. Regional price levels come from the Bureau of Economic Analysis. Mortgage rates come from FRED®. When a source suppresses an estimate, we show a dash — never a substitute number.

How pages earn their place

Every page on this site passes a quality gate before it is published or indexed: it must have sufficiently complete data, current releases, and meaningful comparisons. Pages that can’t support a substantive answer simply don’t exist here. The full process is described on our methodology page.
