Privacy Policy
Effective date: August 13, 2026
SalaryMap USA (“we”, “us”) publishes salary and cost-of-living statistics derived from official U.S. government data. We designed this site to need as little of your data as possible: there are no user accounts, and you can use every page without providing any personal information.
What we collect
Analytics. We use Google Analytics 4 to understand which pages are useful, in aggregate. In regions where consent is required (the EEA, United Kingdom, and Switzerland), analytics and advertising storage are disabled by default and activate only if you accept them in the consent banner (Google Consent Mode v2).
Server logs. Our hosting provider (Vercel) records standard technical request logs (IP address, user agent, requested URL) for security and operations. These are retained briefly and are not used to build profiles.
Calculators. Numbers you type into our calculators are processed entirely in your browser and never sent to our servers.
Search. Site-search queries are processed server-side to return matching pages; we do not store them with any identifier or build search histories.
Cookies
We set a cookie to remember your consent choice, and Google Analytics sets its measurement cookies where permitted. We do not use any other first-party cookies.
Advertising
We intend to display advertising served by Google AdSense. When advertising is enabled, Google and its certified partners may use cookies or device identifiers to serve and measure ads; in regions that require it, ads will be non-personalized unless you consent via a Google-certified consent management platform shown on your first visit. Our advertising partners’ identifiers will be listed in our /ads.txt file.
Your choices
You can decline analytics/advertising storage in the consent banner (where shown), clear cookies at any time in your browser, and use browser-level controls such as blocking third-party cookies. If you are in a region with privacy rights (GDPR, UK GDPR, CCPA/CPRA and similar), you may have rights to access or delete personal data; since we hold no account data about you, such requests usually concern our processors (Google, Vercel), and we will help route them.
Data we publish
All statistics on this site come from public U.S. government datasets (Bureau of Labor Statistics, Census Bureau, Bureau of Economic Analysis, FRED®) and contain no personal information.
